I first discovered MIKE & DOUG STARN last year. What a find they were. The brothers work in an old ice-cream truck garage in Brooklyn NY. Their work is predominantly to do with the passage of time and with perception and illusion in nature. I find their concepts and images fascinating, I don't think I've ever come across work I love this much.

'PERCEPTION OF PLACE'
The title of my most recent brief the finished (or very unfinished) item of which I handed in today. I dislike categorising photographs however sometimes it is unavoidable. This was essentially a landscape project. I was indifferent to this idea, however I went about it in the same way I do all my projects and just experimented with my digital SLR but more importantly the little wonder that is the disposable camera. MIKE AND DOUG STARN and TURNER were my main inspiration. This project was about challenging traditional perceptions of the English countryside.
The black and white images were both taken on Canon 500D, the colour shots are all KODAK/FUJI disposables::::::::::::::::
